Ativan tapering advice please

I'm at 4 mg of Ativan.  Is it reasonable to taper half of a .5 mg pill every two weeks for now.  It comes out to .25 mg with is slightly more than 5% .  I've been on this a long time?  Anyone with Ativan experience?  Thanks.

I'm tapering off of Ativan 1mg(Taken twice daily), so basically 2 mgs of Ativan, and I cut .25 every 2 weeks and its still rough for me and i've only been on benzos all together for 6 months. Id reccomend the Valium crossover if you CAN. My Psychiatrist wouldn't give me the Valium taper cause I "havent been on benzos for that long" and gave me a 4 week direct Taper! LOL I had to tweak it and spread it out and even after making the taper slower, It's still ROUGH. Good luck !

As you get lower in your dose that same half of a .50 pill becomes  a bigger percent. Right now it sounds very reasonable.  You are smart to taper it. I stopped it suddenly....

A cross over is typically done when one has difficulty tapering off their benzodiazepine directly.  We have members here who have successfully tapered off short acting benzodiazepines like Ativan or Xanax.

Oh i know ! I don't have a choice Lol the soonest i can see my Psychiatrist is March 2nd, So I either can suck it up and continue to taper directly or stay at the dose I'm at now and wait to see him and possibly have him or have him not give me the valium taper. I'm gonna try my hardest to taper directly.
