Is it time to jump? Lorazepam - advice welcome

Hey Guys,

I do not come on here much as I feel it better for me not to read of others withdrawal symptoms but am always grateful for the advice you have given me.

I have been tapering since Jan 2016 from 2mg of Lorazepam per day. The weight of this was 0.214g and my 4 daily split doses were 0.054. Dry cutting taper has gone fab, at times I have held off for a while until next cut as I do truly believe it is no race - the slower the better.

My question now is do I jump at my current dose which is 4 daily doses of 0.004g, as you can imagine it is not getting mighty hard to weigh these.

Is it time to jump? Could I mess up if I jump now? I also am on 1 x 7.5mg of Zopiclone which my GP has told me to hold off tapering until this one is complete however any advice on Zopiclone - is there a need to take it as slow as the Lorazepam?

Thanks in Advance - hope you are all going good.

If I'm reading this right, your effective daily dose should be around 37 micrograms (0.037 mg).  You could jump from there.  Seems like a fair number of folks jump somewhere around 0.050.  I'm not saying that you won't feel the jump/cut at all, but I don't think there is any risk to your long-term health.

btw - congratulations for getting as far as you have.

Hi Bads

Thank you taking the time to reply. My daily dose (4 doses combined) is actually only 0.016g!

I think I am ready to jump I guess I am just hanging on!

I may cut one dose out completely and see how I feel then go for it.

Do you have any suggests as to whether I should begin on Zopiclone tapering straight away or hold out for a while?

Many Thanks

I want to be sure that I have this correct...

Weight of an intact 2.0 milligram pill is 0.214 grams?

You're weighing our 0.004 grams of pill four times a day?

That would make 0.016 grams of pill per day.  Right?

If so, then each dose is ~0.037 milligrams (0.000037 grams), and your total daily dose is 0.149 mgs (0.000149 grams).

If all of this is correct, then it's probably too early to jump.  I think you want to get down under 0.1 mg before you jump.  That would equate to around 0.002 grams of pill per dose.  Might want to weight out a full day's dose and divide it into four 'equal' piles by eye.  I agree that weighing out 0.004 (or fewer) grams is tedious.

Hi Bads

Thank you for your reply and yes what you have detailed is correct - as you can see I still get a little confused with weights! I worked it out to be around the equivalent of 1.25mg of Valium so thought perhaps I should go a little lower. I think I will just go as small as I possible can and then jump.

I have many people who have never used bentos saying surely that small amount would have no effect and it is all in the mind - I need to ignore them and note how far I have come - time in which I come off is not essential.

I can feeling my brain working again which is a plus side and have even taken up my law studies again - I wish you all luck in the future x

When do you dose the Zop? Evening only for sleep?

If that's the case, you could drop 1-2 doses of the A and sub it with a small amount of the Zop.

Hi Navita

Yes I currently use the Zopiclone at night for sleep although my sleep itself has become much better over the year i doubt that I need it or that it works efficiently - perhaps more of a mind thing. I had a breakdown which sent my nervous system through the roof and sleep became non existent hence the starting of these poisons!

I am debating cutting the night Lorazepam dose that I take alongside the Zopiclone leaving me with 3 doses of Lorazepam - one step closer I guess to jumping.

Thanks
