Jelly legs forever??

I still have it at almost 13 months...  It's a symptom of w/d, but is also a symptom of severe anxiety in itself.  I keep hoping to wake up one day and have it finally gone.

Oh yes I have it !  Almost one year out !  Even my feet that hurt so bad !

 

Am I the only one also having tingling in my limbs so far out ?

I had this before I even knew what it was called and what caused it.  I assumed that, since I was so inactive during my taper, that I'd just become weaker in my legs, (as well as the rest of my body), and I now think that there is some truth to that.

 

I had a lot of heart symptoms during my taper, so I wasn't comfortable exercising during that time, but about 3 months after my jump, thankfully my heart had calmed down enough to begin an exercise regimen.

 

So, I do think this is a symptom we can fight.  My experience is that I've been riding a "spin bike" at the gym for about 20 minutes 5x / week for almost 7 months now, and my legs have become really strong.  For the most part, they feel good, walking around, however there are still days when my body feels "weak" for whatever reason, and then the next day, everything will feel "strong", so I don't know what that's about.  I do know, that however I'm "feeling", my legs are strong again, and this helps with many things.

 

One other thing, I do think my coordination has suffered a bit from medications, and I'm noticing it get better, ever so slowly with exercise.

I too have issues with coordination.  Honestly, it's like the benzo just undid me physically.  I'm praying a turnaround is possible, and I won't be dealing with this forever.  I'm mostly couch bound at this point and very much missing my old life.

I have this, it's more severe in my right leg. I've had to be helped stand up and walk into other rooms in my own damn house this week because my right leg has been giving out on me. I tried to walk to the end of the street yesterday but my right leg didn't want to so I fell into a wall and gashed my leg and shoulder. It's really worrying for me because the addiction agency who I have another appointment with at the end of the month have always thought my husband is abusive. I worry about turning up covered in both bruises from falling over and flopping, and also the strange, random huge blue ones from WD itself. To even begin to try and tell them that it's WD would just look like an elaborate attempt to defend my 'abusive' husband because we're dealing with a level of ignorance to such a degree I was told WD was only for people who mix Benzos with alcohol, it wouldn't happen to me!. For the record my husband grew up around domestic violence, he wouldn't so much as even threaten me with it!. Yeah we argue sometimes, but please, someone, tell me of a couple that doesn't argue on occasion?. I give as good as I get lol. But no, he'd never, ever do that and it brings me to tears when he's accused of it based on nothing but his appearance (he's tall and has long hair).

 

Anyways if anyone's got any tips on stopping the whole falling over like a weak, frail, older person, then I'd much appreciate it!  :sick:

i'm 1 yr mark and still have jellylegs all the time plus joints pain and weir crack and popping in every joints with tense tendons .very suffer don't know how long to feel better.anyone have these issues .help me.

Are you on any other pharma drugs?  When I lost my sleep and was having horrific  sleep disturbances a few months back I tried seroquel for a few weeks and got the jelly legs.  I had to come off of it.  I do not take any other drugs.

My jelly legs are so severe i think the pain in My hips/pelvis

Are caused by My weak legs.

The muscles in My buttocks Hurt severly.

Anyone else had this??

Please help i have this 7 months constantly 24/7

Hey, I'll try to help you.. read my previous post!  I'm actually surprised no one has commented on it, and instead just seem to be complaining..

 

There are things we can do to help ourselves in this mess, and this is one of them!!!

 

If you think you have weak legs, then you can exercise to make them stronger.  Consistency over time, equals change.  Very simple!

I had jelly legs pretty bad. Along with tingling feet and lack of coordination. They're just now resolving at 3 years 👍.. I always figured it was permanent

 

Also.. It has nothing to do with strength. During all of this i have beeb working out and i squat 400+ pounds. The jelly leg feeling is more like a lack of connection kind of feeling

Thank you for sharing and I agree - this seems unrelated to strength.  Saying that you are seeing improvement is hugely encouraging to me.  I'm at 13 months and the lack of coordination and jelly legs (and arms) is frightening.  Trying to hang in with some hope, and this has helped.

Agreed it's unrelated to strength. I have worked out pretty much my entire withdrawal and I get waves of jelly legs and then the next few weeks, my legs will feel as strong as ever. I think it's much more related to our nervous system and the healing it's going through. That being said, exercise is certainly important in helping things along and you'll be much stronger and fit when it finally passes for good.
