Have any of you come through this, trying to hold onto crumbling relationships, but in the end, let the relationship go? Basically out of resentment over a loved one not being understanding and giving you the support you desperately wanted/needed? Or were you accepting of the fact that it's simply impossible for someone who hasn't gone through it to not get it?

In answer to your question, I found that most of the people in my life just couldn't understand it.  I struggle with the idea of how much of it was my own actions due to my use, taper, and withdrawal.  I'm coming to the point that I will probably not know the answer to that until I have more time out and I get my mind and body back fully.

I go back and forth between feeling extremely guilty over how I acted while on klonopin and also through withdrawal, and being so let down that the people I have needed the most seem..over me. But I get very angry because while I was being a jerk on klonopin I had everything, now that I need someone and feel so lonely, I feel like I have nothing.

From personal experience, I can tell you that, however well meaning some people may be, it is very hard for anyone who hasn't gone through it to understand. My husband is a very loving man, but he has had a tough time with this. It's like he doesn't believe that it is possible that one tiny pill could cause all this. Honestly, I have thought about it and have decided that, truly, no one else can help us but ourselves. We know what we need better than anyone else does. Support is great, but we have to make peace with our own brains and thoughts to heal.
