Quitting smoking whilst withdrawing?

Recommended Posts

I smoke about 20 cigarettes a day and am currently on 10mg Diazepam morning and just under 0.25mg Clonazepam.......I have been withdrawing very very slowly off Clonazepam for the past 2 years. Would it be advisable to try and quit smoking now or when I have finished my taper?

Some have managed to quit during taper. I give them oodles of credit. I keep trying but forever failing. Thinking now I'll just wait because I get so frustrated every time I fail. Not to mention absolutely miserable when trying. So for me maybe it's not in the cards but on the other hand suppose it never hurts to keep trying. I honestly hate smoking. Absolutely hate it so it's certainly on my to do list whenever I possibly can. And where I live it's over $15.00 a pack. So every cig costs a small fortune. And I'm literally burning money plus my throat and lungs. Argh!  B

Do not increase the stress on your system by making any unnecessary changes.

But as soon as your done with your benzo taper, get off those damn cigarettes!

No kidding Builder.  Lol just don't prolong your taper so you have that excuse not to quit. I've come up with doozies as why not to quit on any given day. But when I'm done benzos every single excuse will fall on deaf ears. I think my hubby will definitely make me go outside to smoke even if it's minus 40. In fairness I don't blame him one bit. Whoa is me! B

I was/am a shocking smoker, put it off for yrs on another taper... then a week before xmas i had a mystery chest sickness type thingy... i just stopped no prob... -but in the last week its getting harder, and i wont say i have won yet...

So, yeah, -if it falls into place and is relatively easy, do try...

But as above... -dont knock yourself out over it, just yet...

I was convinced that it was making my sx worse, right or wrong...
