How to titrate 3.75mg Remeron

Hi BB's I am planning to get off Remeron soon and trying to find the best way to taper off. I have a Gemini scale but my 7.5mg pills are so small and I am not sure how to do it. I need help understanding how to titrate. Math not being my strong point but I am determined to learn how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!!

Personally I wouldn't think you need to titrate off 3.75mg to be honest.  I cut my 15mg Mirtazepine in half for four weeks, then the 7.5 in half for another four weeks, then in half to 3.75 which I took for four weeks then stopped taking it with no symptoms whatsoever.  If you do hit a problem there's  always an option to take it again then try reducing again once you feel happy to do so.  Sometimes we tend to over think problems that aren't there.  :smitten:

I understand the OP concern. I have been on 3.75 for 2 1/2 years. And I had a bad reaction to getting off 30 within a month. It makes you nervous. Maybe pills could be compounded, or a liquid made? Not necessarily to go fractional, but just to decide on some simple increments and go with that.

Thanks for responding Builder, after reading various other stories I feel a bit nervous about stopping it c/t. By the time I am ready to get off of it I will have been on it about 5 to 6 months. I know some people can get off of it with no problem. I just want to have my ducks in a row just in case I need a plan B.

I took 30mg/day for 3 years.  When i stopped I did a 2 week taper (15mg, 7.5mg, then off).  Zero WD  sxs.

Most folks have very little difficult discontinuing Remeron.  And 3.75 mg is miniscule.

I hope you are right Builder. Thanks for your help. Do you know how to titrate?

Uhh...yeah, I know a little bit about titration.  ::)

(Read through my posts.  I post titration instructions and schedules almost every day)

OK thank you Builder, SusieJ and draddog, I appreciate your replies. I was planning to try and come off and hoping for no problems. I just wanted to understand titrating in case I need to go that route. Believe me I am tired of w/d already. I did a very slow cut and hold from 40mg Valium and have been off for 2 years 10 months when I had an unfortunate health problem and took about 80 Lorazapam and started the Remeron. Sadly I am back in w/d from the Lorazapam. I believe the Remeron is covering most of my w/d sx's. So I guess I am a little concerned about reducing the Remeron after I get stable from the Lorazapam. Maybe I am concerned for nothing. Thanks again!!
