Muscle Stiffness Experiences

Recommended Posts

I am 7.5 months in and still on the road to recovery. I am functioning and still have a multitude of symptoms but the one i am most curious to hear peoples experiences and time lines with is muscle stiffness and pain. I still have ridiculous back pain and knots as hard as diamonds in parts of my back. I go to my chiropractor every 10-14 days and do active release therapy which seems to help the most. The knots in the back also keep making a number of my ribs get stuck and have to be put back into place. I do a lot of stretching just to be able to move some days. I also notice that my back with get significantly worse if i am in a stressful situation. I had tennis elbow about 4 or 5 years ago from rock climbing which has come back without any instigation (not rock climbing or lifting weight during this)

My chiropractor told me that sometimes u can over work these point knots, it's like if u have an open wound and u keep peeling of the layer every time it start to heal. My chiropractor knows about w/d and said that our cns also have to get the time to follow up. I went to him twice a week in 3 weeks and the a break in 3 weeks. It might be that you're moving to fast and the cns thinks that whenever you use your body it take it as a stressful situation and all the muscles contracts and go in fight flight mode. It's just my thoughts  :smitten:

I was seeing a personal trainer which was seeming to exacerbate the stiffness so I stopped. I mainly just go see my chiropractor whenever i can tell that a rib or several ribs are out and stuck. When they get stuck the muscles get much worse because they are trying to protect the area i guess. In the beginning it was all the time now it seems to last longer and i try not to go unless i absolutely need to just so i can function at work. The unfortunate thing my job in mentally and physically stressful. During the initial withdrawals i was off work completely then i came back and was doing modified work now im back to full duties and each of the remaining symptoms are more apparent because if the type of work I do. Today i went to my physio therapist and got a lot of really useful steches and after this session I feel good so i will be incorperating even more stretching.

Thanks for you insight  :smitten:
