Diazepam Withdrawal

[Li...]

Recommended Posts

Hi I tapered off Diazepam 12 mg from July 2016 until end of October 2016. I then tapered off 150 mgs Sertaline. Then I slowly reduced Nebivolol which was a very small dosage of 1.25. Nebivovol is a Beta Blocker. I probably should have given myself more time to taper but I just wanted them gone out of my life! I was also on Ranitine for 8 months to 'help' my stomach cope with the Sertaline. So as Ranitidine 300 mgs is a H2 blocker I am also questioning whether my symptoms could be histamine intolerance. My symptoms are continuing anxiety, tinnitus, bloating, insomnia, headaches, muscle pain, sensitive to light, sweating for a few minutes about 6 times daily, hair loss and feeling tired and unmotivated.  I had some blood tests and the only thing that showed up was low Vitamin D which was 27 and should be at least 40 or for optimum health between 50 and 70. I have started on D supplements - 10,000 ius daily. Hope to get some much needed support and eventually be able to support others Thank you

Welcome to BenzoBuddies, Liz.

Congrats on being benzo free!  As to your lingering symptoms, they all fit in the category of common symptoms from benzodiazepine use.  Glad to hear your lab results show nothing else.

When you have a chance, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.
