I will walk today and climb the stairs. When thought of tapering came to mind, I thought of something else,  I thought of my Future and what I wanted to catch up on. :)

I meditated, ate a good breakfast, went to group concealing, came home and went for a walk.

Later I am going to watch my grandsons basket ball game.

I decided that I am in charge of my recovery.  The anxiety and depression will not magically disappear unless I take concrete steps to take my life back with a healthy and determined plan of action.  What that plan is, well, each of the comments so far are giving me insight. 🙂

Forced myself to get off the couch, although I was still going through the morning blues. I rode my bike with my husband, had family over. Forced myself to go out to eat with my family, which was very challenging. I had to talk myself down several times while out eating. And now I'm back home. Forcing myself to do things I used to do is really helping me recover.

You people are all great!

I helped clean up the house after Shabbos (or what some members would call Shabbat? Or the Sabbath?). Contributing makes me feel like at least my living now can accomplish something. Even if it's very small.

Feel like I'm operating on the rule of inertia - an object at rest remains at rest unless something gives it a push . . .  ;) I'm feeling okay enough to do things but have no desire to do anything.

Tomorrow I might force myself to attend a free creative writing class I found out about. I can't write as well as I used to, but maybe it'll keep my mind off WD. If I don't focus on how different I am now than I used to be . . .

The thing that helps me the most and that is saving my life is simply walking.  Where I live it is really hot in the summer but at this time of year it is delightful and sometimes nippy outside and so I can walk.  I have different routes around my neighborhood where we have lived for years.  I get going at a good rhythm and just keep going.  I was on clonazepam for over 8 years and I am now 5 months out from zero clonazepam and I have had horrible vertigo 24/7 for 7 months--it is horrible and never stops.  When I walk I almost get some relief --and I have read that walking is the best exercise for healing the brain.  When it is hot I can ride my exercise bike or walk in a mall.  Sometimes when I think I will scream I take a walk around the block.  I need to feel that I am doing something that matters--there is so little control that we have in this and walking helps.

Made it to the doctors with S/O supposedly to collect his sick note for work due to his bad leg, only to find out they won't do it till tomorrow and he has to go back!. Very annoying, sick of people messing us around. One minute they're telling him to stay off the leg and come back today to collect a sick note for work if he needs this week off, and the next telling him to make yet another trip up there. I don't think they have much idea what living with his spinal condition and all the horrible sxs is like. Then went to bed for the rest of the day and hurt, heh, but I guess making it out was a good thing given I hardly ever see daylight anymore. As annoyed as I was it was good to be out, even if it was just the doctor's surgery lol.

I had a protein breakfast and resolved to keep excess and high-sugar carbs down (yesterday was a sugar day that saw an ulcer appear in my mouth - which disappeared overnight with some non-alcohol mouth wash).  I'm pretty sure the excess food (and sugar) contributed to a lousy sleep last night.

I'm doing housework then going for a walk with a friend this afternoon.  I also did a 'self-pedicure' as a couple of nails on my feet seem to be contributing to callouses on the tips of my toes - all bandages and hopefully disappearing.

I'm doing homework after dinner tonight so I'm well prepped for work tomorrow and Thursday (only 2 days this week).
