I am beyond words for this anymore

I am going to see an neurotologist in March but I may find its ALL from this stinking valium..I know this sounds horrid but I wish they would find something wrong so they could FIX it.

I am now at the lowest amount of benzo since this all began in 2012

My hx is lengthy and you can read either BuddieBlog or Progress log

I need reassurance...I was dx by neurologist in Nov. 2015 that I have MAV (migraine associate vertigo)

but it seems that my tapering is exacerbating this (if indeed it is true) I have had dizziness forever but not like this...this is unrelenting and everyday now

I am going to slow taper down to .25mgs every 2 weeks  this last cut was 14% cut whoops that hit me bad

Yet I must keep cutting because holding does NOTHING for me..

anyone want to be my taper buddy????

Lainey... I have this too and I would put it up there as  number 1 with other sxs too... Because they are all equally bad......

ok since only one person responded then I have to believe this is more due to migraines and not as much w/d

I am dizzy 24/7. Somedays with major vertigo. I was even using a walker at one point. Definitely a common withdrawal symptom unfortunately. I can't stand for very long because of it. I find when I put heating pad on my neck sometimes it helps a little. It has to do with the toxicity in the ears benzo withdrawal causes and/or also from neck stiffness, at least that's what I've read.

Lainey... These drugs are vestibular suppressants and ototoxic so I am so sure they are contributing to your dizziness..and head feelings.. I never  had anything remotely close until I took these poisons....I actually get spinning sensations inside my head where my head visibly sways from right to left! Then my left eye will squeeze really tightly shut and jerk and the whole left side of my face will spasm... .

It seems more pronounced on my left side the boaty feeling and dizziness that I have...my vision also in my left eye is distorted... Everything is choppy and it feels like I can't process motion in real time... Like my eye muscles are too slow....

My friend was taken off kolonopin in 1 week and 22 months later she still has severe vertigo and balance problems..... She did have Ménière's disease and balance problems  prior but she said this has made it 3xs worse. And was nothing like this........

I'm so frightened from all this and can relate to your posts... I have all kinds of whacky sensations in my head... It feels like there is a rumbling or like fireworks going off... Like the neurotransmitters are being rearranged or something... These sensations are the weirdest feelings ever

Oh I forgot to say also I cannot be under fluorescent lights either.... It magnifies all this big time

much blessings and peace to you

I'm sorry you're suffering so badly. There is a dizzy group in the support groups, they may can give some help. I JUST told my husband I feel like I'm dying. I tell him that everyday. We aren't dying Lainey, we are healing. Unfortunately, the healing isn't pleasant. Try a heating pad on your neck. Nicole

This used to be by far the worst withdrawal symptom for me.  It was a result of being tapered far too fast.  I, like hopefreegirl, also had to use a walker.  I still have these symptoms, but they certainly are much more tolerable!

I was originally prescribed Ativan for Vestibular Migraines, and had horrible vertigo.  However, the vertigo from withdrawal is by far worse than having the vertigo that lead me to Ativan.

It does improve in time.  At the time, I never believe it would get better, but it does.  Hang in there!

I'm so glad this dizziness gets better! I can't even stand for very long because of it. Thanks for giving hope, seeking hope :)

Hope and Seeking I have been on the tread for dizzy but all of them are off the drug and I am not there yet

Seek...I was dx with MAV (migraine associated vertigo) but this has gotten so much worse since these drugs so I agree with you on that

Hope, I do use heating pad and traction collar (herniated discs)  using a walker in my house would not be easy...lots of stairs..so I just hold onto the walls

are any of you effected by the weather?  I seem to be..barometric pressure makes it worse

today woke with it bad (usually it kicks in after I have been up for awhile) big storm hitting here this afternoon..

Just wish there was something to make this STOP!!!!  I love God and have full faith in Him...so I pray constantly...but for whatever reason He has chosen to leave me in this place...

argh i feel for you and totally relate. i went into tolerance withdrawal late 2015, which ended up feeling like full out withdrawal like i was tapering...before i ever thought to taper. the first hints of it were exercise intolerance where the gym was causing major panic attacks and adrenaline rush after moderate workouts, which was causing wooziness.

i started getting sorta dizzy, woozy, off balance, hard to explain really exactly how i feel, ALL THE TIME.

ive been whacked out for over a year, ALWAYS with the off kilter weirdness. its awful, i can totally deal with every other symptom but the off balance wooziness is the worst. it also is accompanied with a nice helping of agoraphobia, which i never had until i hit tolerance withdrawal.

its very uncomfortable, and ive had hellish days cause i CANNOT lose my job. working a career through this by far the hardest thing ive ever done in my life.

but if its any consolation, ive started to have some windows between my cuts where its thankfully subsided to some degree. actually last week it was tolerable, not tooo bad, definitely better than earlier last year, i made another cut though this weekend and im feelin it so its back pretty strong,

hang in there!! ive had what youre describing 24/7 for a loooong time, it sucks, but my tapering windows are starting to show the effects subside by a noticeable margin

I'm sorry laineyk, I missed seeing this post.  I am not one that is affected by the weather, but do know many that are.

I have known people that have taken Gravol during withdrawal to alleviate the dizziness, but it's not something I have tried myself as Gravol makes me very sick.  I have had a few things prescribed to me, but am afraid to take anything.  You will heal, and it will get better.

Everything here relates, thought i was the only barometer...

The worst of my ballance was nov/dec (sig) and i nearly went through the shower glass with one incident...

Right now Mr Benzo is going through a list of all my pre-existing weaknesses, in a rather brutal way...

One thing, -i personally found 0.5V cuts caught up on me too... and im not convinced that 0.25 cuts below 2V are going to be that great for me either...

But you sound very much onto it...

Perhaps seeing the specialist will get a decicive answer, but while tapering V, maybe not...

Either way, hope it settles for you asap...

Best wishes...
