Reinstated one .25 mg dose. Am I screwed?

One year ago I quit taking Clonazepam 0.5 mg. I was taking one tablet every 2-3 days for about a month and a half. Well I just up and quit taking them and my wd symptoms included visual disturbances/delusions that lasted a couple days but not full blown hallucinations. Cob web feeling on skin. All symptoms except random body twitches have stopped and I feel like I've healed from my short term benzo use. But my doctor prescribed me the exact same prescription for anxiety and today was the first time in a year and a couple weeks I've taken a benzo and it was half a 0.5 mg tablet. Am I gonna go back to square one? Or if I don't take another dose will I be fine?

Bluebobo,

I would think that you would be fine not taking the .25 mg dose.

If reinstating helps you, you might try it.  I reinstated for 3 months and got no benefit.  And you're not back to square one.

One thing stopping me begging for a reinstate is my fear of the 'kindling' phenomena. This is basically when you've come off a substance, mainly Alcohol or Benzos, and you reinstate either, then try to stop again and each subsequent WD is worse than the last. Alcoholics with a previous history of DTs run the risk of developing DTs again if they start drinking again because kindling on alcohol is also possible. I would be particularly wary of this, and interdose WD too. Klonopin (Clonazepam) seems to affect GABA more potently than some other Benzos, so I would think about possibly switching to an equivalent dose of Diazepam so when the time comes to begin tapering, you're already on the best Benzo for it. Those are my thoughts, and no I don't think you're screwed at all. These drugs are evil, this is part of the reason big pharma hard sells them to doctors, because people become dependent, and dependency=£$£$£. Just like the imbeciles who manufacture the 'legal high' analogue versions that destroyed me. There really is no difference, the endgame is the same, £$£$£$£$. The analogues I used are still available in places like continental Europe and many US states, where they destroy more lives than any illicit drug ever will.

So no, in all honesty you're not screwed, but beware of kindling and consider asking about Diazepam for the reasons I mentioned above. I don't blame anyone for reinstating, I loathe the mere thought of another day feeling like I do at the moment. I know what reinstating would mean for me though, as I had severe paradoxical side effects like 24/7 panic attacks, terror feelings, constant fear, insomnia etc. Watch out for these also, as it's easy to confuse them with interdose/tolerance WD. I'm not sure reinstating would even do much for me because my dose was so high, there's no doctor on Earth who would prescribe 700mg of Diazepam lol. That's what my Diclazepam dose was equivalent to.

Kindling happens if I completely reinstate correct? Like if I continue taking them for another stretch of time and my body gets dependent on them again. Right? From taking one or two a month would I be ok? I know benzos are terrible but I had a massive anxiety attack yesterday that's why I'm curious. Just taking it that one time last night won't un do and entire year of healing will it?

I have withdrawn from Xanax before and for me it was similar to an opiate wd I'd imagine would feel like. Felt like I had been ran over by a truck sore all over nausea and rebound anxiety running a fever. Lasted about 5 days and that was it. No other symptoms. I guess I was SO afraid of going through that again with the Clonazepam 0.5mg that I only took one tablet every 2-3 days for a month and a half. So when I quit I was already so worried about wd from the Clonazepam that I think most of everything I went through was in my head and not actually wd. Because other than a little rebound anxiety and just FEAR of bad wd and twitching that's all I had.

Don't beat yourself up over taking one dose,e you cannot go back and untake it now. You will be fine, one dose is not going to send you back in WD hell. Take care of yourself it is not going to send you back into kindling hell or anything.

Just stop taking the benzo now.  You won't kindle unless you reinstate and try to come off again.  Just consider it a rescue dose and move forward.
