Strange breathing sensation

Recommended Posts

I have been having a very strange feeling with my breathing for the past several days. I don't know how to describe it other than it feels to me like my body isn't automatically going to take another breath unless I manually think about it. I don't have any problem taking a deep breath or exercising, but when sitting still have this very unsettling feeling. It sounds crazy to me but almost like I might suffocate. I'm feeling very worried over this. I can't tell if this is something I am focusing on too much and making it worse. I am thinking about contacting my doctor but think I might sound crazy. I'm not sure what this could be physically so wondered if it could be something related to the withdrawal?

It is ABSOLUTELY related to the withdrawal.

I had exactly that - it lasted about a week/ten days max and then petered off without my even realising it was gone.

Trust you body - It and not "you" is in charge of breathing; it may help to do a "breathe in for four, hold for four, out for eight" (x3) every now and again, but then, forget about it

I feel the same . Its always good to check with your doctor to make sure. I went to my doctor and she said its anxiety and I read somewhere it's one of the symtoms of panic attacks which I have every day . I asked my doctor dos referral to see pulnimogy (wrong spelling) but I haven't been to. I honestly think it's wd but if you worry it's better to check it out to have peace of mind. Don't worry benzo wd gives us so many weird symtoms people don't go through it won't understand . Hope you feel better.
