After many months of reading many, many, many of your posts as a guest, I finally decided to join you all!

28 yo female from Finland. Married with 2 kids. Suffering from PAWS after taking benzos for severe anxiety.

Aprox. 7 months off benzos. First a dose of 45 mg Oxazepam, (quick 2 month taper) was pure hell, couldn't manage so was put back on but switched to Diazepam.

Had to make own tapering plan with what I was prescribed. I live in Finland and doctors here are totally clueless when it comes to benzo withdrawal and PAWS. They think it takes a couple of weeks of withdrawals and after about a month you'll be healed... No point in even going there with docs over here. Haven't talked to my doc in ages.

Doctors here in the states are equally as clueless.  We welcome you with open arms.  Sorry you are here but we are all here to support each other on this journey.

Hey. 

Thank you for your warm welcome.  I never in a million years thought this process (WD) would take this long... Still amazes me everyday that still I can wake up and discover a new ******* symptom!! Have had some kinds of windows during this 7 month battle but just short periods of time and only once that I've felt completely normal.

I've been thinking about joining for a long time but always thought that I would soon be feeling better so "what's the point in joining this late on... " But when I hit my 7 month milestone I just about have had enough, need to talk to somebody that doesn't think I'm crazy or making shit up. I'm happy that I've joined. Just knowing I have somebody that knows what I'm going true makes it easier to fight this beast!
