I know, you think I'm really sick for that subject line!

Well, my brain still hasn't completely healed yet .

 

Seriously speaking, don't worry, I'm still suffering from heavy symptoms. But the unbearable agony I've had during the whole of 2016 is much lighter now. Now it's just plodding along, and easier sort of suffering.

 

So, I've finally started organizing some stuff that needed organizing for the last two years or so (who can organize things with a disorganized brain?), and I found lots of little Post-it notes and documents that commemorate my withdrawal experience. A doctor's order for a brain MRI, doctor bills, lists of vitamins recommended by a health food store, notes of helpline phone numbers, therapists' phone numbers, doctors' phone numbers. Websites like this one, withdrawal info. All different strange, extremely emotional (and inappropriate) letters I've written to people I barely know. Pros and cons lists, me trying to make decisions with a brain that was in such unreality, I had no idea what I was capable of. I couldn't even remember how to spell and was trying to go to college, etc. . .

Anyway, now I'm collecting these things and saving them in sheet protectors. A sort of scrapbook. One day I'm going to look back at all this and laugh.

Pals, even if you are in the midst of the agony, collect these things. One day you won't even remember this happened! Life will become so good!
