Having some muscle issues and have a few questions?

For the past 3 months of my taper I've been lifting weights and exercising as a vice to help get me through this mess. I've also been tapering normally. Just recently I've been experiencing some muscle strain issues, to where certain muscles almost feel pulled or highly inflamed. I don't really remember hurting myself lifting and I eat pretty clean too. I have fatigue and spasms all over my body daily but just push through bc what else am I going to do. They seem to be isolated in my right knee, left shoulder blade, left side of my neck and mid back left side. I do have pretty bad tension all over but nothing new. Has anyone else had similar problems and do you think I should continue exercising even though it hurts? Maybe just nerve pain? Tried taking a week off lifting to see if Id improve but not really. Thanks!

I switched to aerobic for my taper but if weights works keep going, cortisol may be responsible for muscle tightness.  Drink lot of water, make sure you keep your electrolytes up and maybe gat a massage now and then if you can or physio. listen to your body. Love and strength to you.

Appreciate the advice. I've lost so much weight that I try and do cardio less but still weekly just bc I'm getting so slim and still have a ways to go but might have to change things up again here. Amazing how our whole bodies are affected. Probably couldn't hurt drinking more water and monitoring electrolytes to see though. Gracias

Benzos are strong muscle relaxers.  Because your muscles have been artificially "relaxed" for 9 years, it is very possible that as you taper lower that your muscles will lock up more, because they don't know how to relax naturally.  I took 1 mg Klonopin for 11 years.  Many of the mental symptoms I had during my taper have disappeared, but I am on non-benzo muscle relaxers because my muscles are so tight, I have trouble walking.  (I also have random limb movements, but this is another issue).  Muscle issues in general seem to be pretty common for people in benzo withdrawal.

You mentioned nerve pain - it is also possible that the pain is coming from the nerves and not the muscles, since our nervous systems are fried.

Hey Two, i remember reading a good post on this about xmas time...

In essence, -it was as above...

Also remember released toxins (or heavy metals) love our joints... but gentle exercise and water should help there anyway.. there are exceptions, but that would be trying hard to create a problem...

Keep up the good work...
