Ultrasound therapy for muscle pain?

Has anyone used a heated ultrasound machine to help with muscle pain/spasms?  (These are often used in physical therapy offices - a little wand that they rub over sore muscles using a special gel).  They sell units for home and I am considering investing in one.  I just wondered if anyone had any experience using it.  Thanks!  Muscle issues are the biggest issue I am facing right now.  I am getting ready to go to physical therapy, but without my current muscle relaxer, I am unable to walk.

Ultrasound at the physical therapist office has given me some relief.

The ultrasound was the only thing at P/T that helped me.

http://www.ezultrasound.com/  I was looking at the ultracure pro plus.  The only thing I don't like about it is that the gel that comes with it apparently can have some issues.  (Tells you in small print to contact your physician before using the gel, but they won't substitute out another one that they sell, so I would have to buy that separate.  I find that very questionable.)  The unit did seem to have good reviews on youtube.

 

I start physical therapy in a few weeks.  I will probably hold off until I talk to them.  Apparently ultrasound therapy doesn't work for everyone (I had it used during PT years ago for back/neck issues and it worked wonders!).

Ultrasound therapy is really helping with nerve inflamation/ muscle pain and weakness on my left arm. hope you find some relief too.
