Sleep

[So...]

Recommended Posts

Does anybody else feel like they have not had a good night of refreshing sleep in a heck of a long time, even if it is 9 hours ever since starting klonopin almost two and a half years ago I have yet to wake up feeling like I used to, alert, rested and ready to take on the world

I have read that taking benzo's alters your body's ability to have truly restful and restorative sleep so I am hoping that once I am off or maybe tapered down more, it will help me feel better rested in the morning, I feel out of it after I take my morning dose .5 mg and then again at night when I take my .5 mg dosage it hits me pretty immediately and I pretty much pass out but that sleep isn't restful it's very restless or bogged down my scary dreams or bad thoughts, I just want to feel like a functioning human being again

Yes...definitely! I don't have trouble sleeping or falling asleep when I'm not cutting my dose "so far"!

After I cut, that's a whole different story! My quality of sleep is so sporadic for a week to a week in a half after my last cut.

I was hesitant to take any other meds/sleepaids besides things I took before benzos.

My doctor gave me 12.5mg quetiapine as needed for sleep and it worked great the very first time I took it but I still take it every night so I don't know if my sleep would worsen without it. I've had a couple of restful nights here and there but not every night. Sleep seems to be a big problem with a lot of people tapering.  It's not my worst symptom but it's definitely not helping. I can deal with my sleep issues as long as I'm not cutting! Hope you find at least a few restful nights here and there. They really help!

Good Luck

Ann

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your advice and encouragement. I honestly didn't know that I was experience severe tolerance symptoms at 1.5 my mark on klonopin until now, I didn't even know what tolerance was but looking back it is so obvious now that's what it was. I'm glad to know it is just the Klonopin and not one of the many illnesses I had convinced myself I had. I feel like health anxiety can be a big part of withdrawal too

Im same, better when i steady out after a cut. And better after changing V from am to pm... but the swap was like a cut in itself... early days, but i think sleep is getting better the lower i get, not quite sure on that though, and my .5V cuts are becoming a bigger%, so we will see...

I will hold if my sleep is still rather bad, as its one of my big 3 sx...

Lol, slept great last night after i got home from hosp at 1am... but i dont recomend splitting ur head open to sleep... prob going a tad too far...

Hope this helps ease ur mind... no sleep = benzo taper...! Imho...
