I am joining BenzoBuddies to get some support in my recovery, I was taking Valium for around 13 years on and off.  I finished my taper 7 months ago and would really appreciate some support.

Congrats on being benzo free, that in itself is an accomplishment.  As you've found, the symptoms don't necessarily go away once you're off the benzodiazepine, and support can be very reassuring during the recovery process.

When you have a chance, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.

Welcome Hurricane!! I quit xanax 7 1/2  months ago after many years so I understand what you are going through. Once you quit you think you will feel great and then you realize that recovery is a slow process. People here really understand that and the support has gotten me through some really tough days. Better days are ahead- I hang onto that hope!
