Self Pity-Whining-Loathing-WTF!?

Through out this withdrawal process and all its suffering ive had the biggest pity party in my life. Ive had some serious suffering before but i never whined as much as i have during benzo withdrawal. To be honest ive never been much of a whiner about anything in life. Its always been "dust yourself off and get back up"-Yet in benzo withdrawal i wanna scream to anybody who will listen the suffering im experiencing and im also having a VERY difficult time getting motivated to do ANYTHING! I believe this must be a symptom of the withdrawal in and of itself. I know i cant be the only one who feels this way. Anybody else noticed their pity party is much grander then usual? Just curious.

Windwalker,

We all deserve a pity party considering what's been done to us!  Just search "worst withdrawal" and look at high benzos rate!

Remember that your symptoms are chemical and not you.

Keep pushing through!

I can relate to what you are going through I also have a lot of self imposed pity going on. I also have never wanted to pity myself or have a woe is me attitude. It is very difficult and hard to get over. Stick with it you will get better and these thoughts will be gone.

Yes.  The pitypalooza is very real.  Woe is me 24/7.  I can't help but feel like a child half, maybe most, of the time.  Not much more to add except that I can relate.

Wind Walker, I can't respond to PMs.

In response to your question, no- I never made it off of benzos after several taper attempts. I'm sorry if that's not what you wanted you to hear but I am doing fine maintaining my life remaining on clonazepam with the exception of the occasional common side effects such as memory loss and cognitive impairment.

I should also mention that this particular message board was not only detrimental to my sanity but also increased psychosomatic symptoms of withdrawal. I would hope by now that things have improved but somehow I'm doubtful.

Charlie

I was going thru older posts on this website and stumbled upon yours and saw that you abruptly left a few years ago so to be honest i just wanted to be sure you were ok dude. Aint no way you disappoint me! Everybodys gotta do what they gotta do to survive this world. Im sorry you had such a rough time and am glad that you are doing better. Take care and thanks for letting me know ur ok. And i DEFINETLY know what youre talking about when you say BB can affect you negatively. Reading all the negative posts can make a person feel hopeless. I actually only get on here when im having a very rough time to try and relate with somebody because its difficult to relate with people in the real world because they have no idea what benzo wd is about. Is that picture you? Ur the spittin image of Chris Cornell! I saw him at a BAR in downtown seattle after soundgarden split. Good luck.

Ps

I also have been coming off high doses of Kpin. I have a spiking blood pressure issue and so i get mega doses of clonide for it. I believe the clonidine has made my wd a bit more tolerable then your wd was for you. Ive known people who have taken benzos for decades who seemingly never hit tolerance through all their years of use. They are a very small minority of users who seemingly dont have any issues of using benzos year after year. Maybe you are one of these people whom doesnt suffer from tolerance withdrawal and if so......cool. ME!-I hit tolerance literally days after using benzos. 3 days after my first dose i need to do twice as much to get the same effect. It was insane. So if it doesnt affect you in that manner-more power to you!
