Cervical Dystonia - Botox Injections for Pain Relief

My pain clinic doctor said he thinks I have Cervical Dystonia, and wants to do Botox injections to try and help relieve pain.

 

I think if it is cervical dystonia, it started sometime before 2011 when I had my first neck surgery.  I have this weird thing I do with my head and neck.  It's like I feel I have to turn my head kind of right and downwards.  It's not involuntary, it's strictly voluntary.  I try not to do it in front of people because it's kinda weird.  It creates a lot of pain in my neck and the right side of my entire shoulder area. Feels like those muscles are in a constant state of spasm.  It's a continuous pain, it never goes away, until recently when they put me on MS Contin, which really helps so much, but just another thing I'll have to taper from. Ugh.  Unfortunately though, I absolutely needed something to control the pain.  Pain level was around 8-9 before MS Contin.

 

Has anyone had any experience with botox injections for this kind of thing.
