I hope you feel better!! Please let us know you're okay.

Beta blockers are good if you have palpitations. They do slow the heart rate down. I take them as blood pressure pills. The doctors at the ER can probably give you a good idea of what to take. I hope everything is all right!!  :smitten:

Hi Terry,

Thank you for caring. My ECG and Xray for chest came normal, I am relieved, so this must be because of benzo reacting to anxiety. The heart was so painful for many hours at work. I was so scared and as much as I thought it was from benzo because it happened 2 months ago and I ended in the urgent care and ECG was normal. However, this morning it was so intense and scary it just couldn't stop. My instinct was telling me I need to check this out, its better than to sit and wait and if something serious happens.

Tracy, you did the right thing, and I'm so glad everything turned out fine!! I figured as much. A lot of people in benzo wd go to the ER only to be told that they're fine. But who could sit around home and wonder? It was good you got it checked out!!

Thank you Terry. I feel I make everyone around me suffer for the last 7 months when I jumped.  My fiance had to take off work the other day to take me to the doctor (I am sure I could drive but if he's with me , I am feel more secured). Even yesterday my fiance went with me to the ER and wait for 3 hours (this time not too much waiting like before, I am glad). I left work and not helping my co workers. They seem to be very understanding, my supervisor. My life has been on roller coaster and I make everyone else life around me affected too. I jsut hope I will be better soon and I promise to be a MUCH better person in everything /to anyone I meet. I just appreciated life more now. I just hope that I have the chance to help others later on in life.

I know exactly how it is. I'm glad that your boyfriend came with you to the doctor appointment and the ER. It's so important to have the support behind you. You'll be able to be of help down the line to others, but you need to think of yourself now and your well-being. I hope that your boyfriend knows at least a little about benzos because it will help him to be more understanding. So many people are also going through the same thing. One day at a time. Someday (I hope sooner rather than later!) this will all be done with and you'll be able to help others and live a full life!  :smitten:

My Dr. gave me beta blockers to help with the psychical symptoms of benzo withdrawal. I take them only as needed. Not sure if this is standard practice but it helps me.

As long as they help you, I'd take them, Triumph. I've been on them for some time, and I have found that you've got to be careful getting off of them, take it slowly and take your blood pressure (unless you are one of those who can get off with no problem, which I'm not).

Since some BBs are given for stage fright they are used only when needed by many people, not just people with diagnosed cardiac issues. Sometimes it does take a few tries to find the right one. Some are more sedating than others!
