Orange juice revving me up

[Be...]

Recommended Posts

Just like the title says I've been drinking a small glass of OJ in the AM for the past few days. Today I notice increased w/d symptoms like cog fog, dizziness, and a bit anxiety. I always drank a small amount daily but stopped several months ago because I suspected it was revving up my symptoms.

Anyone else experience this too? I know we can get food sensitivities maybe this is one for me. I hope it goes away. Does anyone know an explanation for this? Is it the VitaminC?

Thanks buddies.

Becky, you might try eating oranges instead and see how that goes. I have had a bad effect from taking Vitamin C lozenges. I gave up. I haven't tried orange juice. It may be the natural sugar in concentrate that's doing it. With the lozenges, I don't know if it's the blood pressure pills I'm taking on top of everything, but my blood pressure went way up. I can eat oranges with no problem, though. Sometimes I think the CNS in healing mode from benzos doesn't like concentrated in ANY form. It's too much for the CNS to take.

I'll do without OJ for now. Yes George and Terry it's probably the intense sugar rush you get from OJ. I don't have problems with other sweets though. Hmmm. I'll get a couple oranges and try one and see how it goes. Thanks.

Most likely you are getting a blood sugar spike from the OJ.  If you really want the OJ go to fresh squeezed and drink it with the pulp and eat it with some protein and fat.

Try V8, low sodium instead.

Hi Luke. Is V-8 tomato juice? I've never tried it but I guess it's not so sugary. I was feeling wavy since, but I'm starting to feel better. I think I'll try the V-8. Thanks.

I've never heard of OJ revving you up but I believe it.  Benzos cause some weird reactions to seemingly harmless things such as OJ some times.

  • 1 month later...

I stopped drinking oj once again. I figured out it was contributing to vaginal burning. It's the citric acid I believe. Hopefully one day I'll be able to drink it again.
