Need a hug of encouragement

So I started my taper about 30 days ago. Had been pretty good over the holidays . Have been doing a liquid titration of alprazolam. About 1% per day. Last 3-4 days have been rough. Today especially bad morning anxiety nervousness pain in the neck shoulders arms. The pain in the neck shoulders arms seems to feed the anxiety . It's not like a muscle pain it's like a nerve pain. Very bad this morning. Just need some encouragement / words of wisdom from some buds here.

 

I was only taking .25 nightly of alprazolam  but for about 6 years. I don't understand how some of you come down from mg' s per day. I can't imagine.

Your sxs are very common and Xanax is hard to come off off (they all are). I get the nerve pain and burning too. Maybe try you're taper a bit more slowly. Every two to three days. It's very short acting so sxs can hit quickly but luckily you're on a small dose. If you can deal with the sxs though I'd continue. But if you become extremely agitated or anxious slow down a bit. Your taper is reasonable. Your cuts could be catching up to you. If you were stable on your dose prior to tapering a hold could help and you could stabilize then proceed. Unfortunately for some like me who are in tolerance a hold does not really help much other than lessen the intensity of symptoms of withdrawal but I never stabilize. I send you thoughts of healing and support during this journey.
