Is it possible to recover after 11.5 years of abusing benzos?!

BC,

You are still early on in the process and it is way too early to start asking yourself this question.  Regardless of poly drugged, dosages and time in the drugs, most people heal in 3 years or so.  Try to deal with the symptoms as they arise and get through each day knowing the next day will be different, maybe even better.

Cog fog is my worst and most frustrating and persistent symptom. Leaving me unable to work since my job requires alot of cognitive abilities like short term memory and extreme focus. I'm trying to solve games like Sudoku but I get extremely stressed out. I can't think of any better brain exercise!

I'm coming off 15 years of Xanax and opiate abuse. I am at 13 months now and I still have anxiety and cognitive issues as well. But you will start to see symptoms improving soon just stick with it.

I'm gonna go with Davis on this , I think we are pretty around the same . I was on the drugs for 10 years and I'm 13 months off as well . This road is beyond bumpy , it's like every bump as an extra gallop in it . Can't wait to heal and we will .

I was on benzos for 17 years and started as a teen. I'm over 15 months off now and it's undeniable that I'm healing. Am I healed? No. I still get waves. But, I'm better and working at it daily.

Hang in there

I certainly did! Brain zaps came early in WD and have long since passed, but I still deal with intrusive thoughts daily.

I was only on these drugs for about 2 years total and its been 9 months since I jumped and I'm still suffering severe cognitive deficits. I'm maybe 10-20% better now than I was at the beginning. I can't believe the duration of this recovery process givin the amount of time I was on. I suppose I did more damage because of my on and off usage which caused kindling.

People say you will eventually improve but the longer this goes on the less I'm inclined to believe them.
