anyone taken an SSRI while tapering from Clonazepam

Although sedating SNRIs are sometimes used for sleep some shrinks claim that if a person has existing depression and they take an SSRI along with their clonazepam or other benzo it will balance the serotonin and return normal sleep .

 

I have done some reading on this and find conflicting reports. One said that an SSRI  " He was talking about prozac " is good for depressives who sleep to much because it is stimulating yet the article also said that it can work for depressives who have insomnia .  Ironically one of SSRIs side effects is insomnia and supposedly Prozac is very stimulating.

 

In any case I would be curious to know if anyone has experienced this combo and did it return Your sleep.

I'm not currently tapering, i've been off for 4 months, but I just re-started a different SSRI. I currently take 10mg celexa. I had taken zoloft before when this all started and it was very overstimulating and horrible. The celexa is WAY more mild. In terms of it further disrupting sleep, I honestly can't see a difference. If anything I am calmer about sleep now, because it really helps me anxiety. It did not make my sleep any better, but it also did not make it worse, and it helps me feel more like myself and want to do things, and not sit around worrying about sleep all the time like I was for months.
