Hello! I just came across this site and really want to join. I have been taking Xanax and Zolpidem for years and need advice/tips on how to get off these.

Welcome to Benzo Buddies!  You've come to the right place for information and support in tapering off both Xanax and zoplidem. 

 

You are taking two drugs that have a strong impact on the central nervous system. What doses are you taking of these medications?  To ease the stress of withdrawal, it is important to taper just one drug at a time.

 

A slow taper is recommended to minimize withdrawal symptoms. In general, a reduction of no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days is suggested. I'll give you a link to the General Taper Plans for additional information.

 

I'll also give you a link to the Ashton Manual, it is an excellent resource about these types of drugs and how to withdraw. It was written by Dr. Heather Ashton, an expert in the field.
