Non alcohol beer

Recommended Posts

I'm Danish, and we Danes like a beer now and then, I never had an alcohol problem but I always enjoyed my one evening beer, and I miss it sooooo...just after I jumper before I knew anything about BenzoBuddies and and anything else, I still drank my evening beer about 2-3 weeks out, and felt OK actually,  then i started to read all the stuff about alkohol, and i stopped... im not drinking 2-3-4 beers, I drink just one normal tuborg.... and. I miss it :-\

What if I drink a non alcohol beer???

No horror stories 😊

It looks like you are pretty early in your WD as about 2 months off. 1 NA beer a night isn't gonna hurt anything. You could try having a couple and see if you notice anything. My guess is you will be fine. For real beer I would wait until you are 9 months out to experiment with that and start slow. I'm 13 or 14 months off Benzos and can have 3 drinks whenever I want now with 0 negative effects. I usually only drink once or twice a week though as I try and keep all things in moderation now.

I agree with benzoduck. You are pretty early into this  so maybe not. Non alcoholic beer actually contains a really low amount of alcohol but not enough to make any difference. I am at 13 months and I tried drinking in moderation over the holidays and it did not really do anything. By in moderation I mean that I had two glasses of wine with Christmas eve dinner, a little champagne on new year, and then I had like two draft beers about a week ago with dinner. It made me feel a little dizzy but in a good way. I had no negative side effects from. I believe we can do what we want in moderation, if I had gotten drunk and then had a survive a hangover with benzo WD symptoms I'm sure that would have been a real nightmare.

This is just my opinion and may get grilled for this but I'd have a beer and see.........or maybe split one with your partner or friend. It amazing how much fear these drugs instill in people. Folks running around felling caged, not only by the drug but by their Pdoc as well.

The drug/recovery is making you put aside things in life you enjoy.

Totally agree with this.

You might even like a shandy. It's a mix of beer and carbonated soft drink like gingerale, seven up, lemonade.

It's usually half and half. You can make them with either regular or non - alcohol beer.

I agree with what the others are saying Elbette. I have gotten flamed in the past for saying but I feel we can do whatever we want as long as we do it in moderation. Since you are Danish and enjoy drinking then try it with like 1 beer, if that works try 2. I would just avoid getting really drunk that could lead to really bad side effects. I have never been much of a drinker so it is easy for me to have one or two and then stop, sounds like you are the same way.

Thanks everyone, I'm not looking for getting drunk, I'm just looking for the state of feeling normal, I'm so sick of being looking for monsters under my bed continuously, I simply just miss my one ☝️ and only evening beer. I did actually the first 2-3 weeks after I jumped  drink one every evening, and it didn't make me feel any different in w/d symptoms.

We'll see, maybe I just stick to the non alcoholic

All my best thoughts to u all :smitten:

I don't really drink even before benzo. Maybe a little bit of wine , very tiny at a friend's wedding, etc. But I agree with others so you can go and enjoy little bit in moderation :).

I'm 12 months out and have no problems with non-alcoholic beer. I still limit myself to 6 of them over a weekend night because there is about .4% alcohol in them but haven't noticed a problem. I still don't feel comfortable enough to try real alcoholic drinks yet. Good luck!
