Bad Reaction To Singular / Lorazepam

Easter 1 1/2 years ago I started my journey with a bad reaction first to singular which I was taking for allergies, after getting really emotional, having very odd thoughts and panic attacks I went to the emergency room. The doctor gave me Lorazepam to help with my reaction to singular. At this point I figured it would get better, boy was I wrong! I took LP which I also ended up having a bad reaction to. After seeing a doctor I was advised I could discontinue using the LP. I quit taking it and went through a full blown withdraw. I experienced depression, thoughts against myself, thoughts against people I love... When I say thoughts they were things that would go through my mind but I never had intentions of doing. I also would have like weird like first person visions is the only way I could describe them. Its been crazy to experience never had anything like this before so naturally it scared the shit out of me. Today I mainly deal with anxiety when seeing things on tv or fb... I was doing really good to the point where things were feeling normal then I reluctantly decided to go out and drink one night, I woke up hung over and the next day I had a anxiety attack about something I saw on tv. I am currently bouncing back from my poor decision then caught the flu which causes things like anxiety to be more active. Any questions or comments are welcome I would love to learn how other people made it through.

How long and what dose of lorazepam were you on? Did you just do it a few times? It wouldnt cause the reaction you describe if so.

It would help us if you could make a signature and list your Benzo and medication history. If you only used the Lorazepam as a one off, or for a couple of days, then the sxs you are having are very, very unlikely to be withdrawal and it could be another medication causing you to feel this way. If the Lorazepam made you feel like this after being given it the first time, you could have experienced what's known as 'paradoxical side effects', which are common with Benzos, and are when a drug causes the very things it's supposed to prevent. In the case of Benzos, these can be things like panic attacks, rage/anger, feelings of 'unreality' (derealization), and extreme anxiety. These were the side effects I had.

Are you still using the Singulair?. This med has a long list of possible side effects, including agitation, anxiety, confusion, visual disturbances and insomnia, all of which mirror those of Benzo withdrawal.

If you're feeling like this, I'd go back to your doctor with the leaflet insert you should have with the Singulair and tell them you're experiencing side effects. This is the full list of Singulair side effects: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/singulair-side-effects.html

Sorry for the lack of information, First the Singular I only took a few times the last time I took it I started having the trouble and haven't taken it since. I wish I could remember how much Lorazepam I was taking but I was so bad I basically had to have someone to tell me when to take it and how much I was suppose to take. I was taking LP for about 8 weeks. The amounts would keep going up to combat the anxiety and then I slowly scaled it down to the point I could get off of it which I think was .25mg? And again this was about 1 1/2 years ago so it is hard to remember some things. Also I am not on any other medications, before this incident or after.
