Trying to hang on

I'm struggling pretty bad today. I went off of  .1125 xanax 6 days ago. I started my taper of Temazepam last night 30 mg down to 28.5, I can't believe how bad my anxiety is today. Also, I haven't hardly slept maybe 2-4 hrs broken. I know the lack of sleep is making everything worse right now. I can't imagine having these symptoms for months. I am overwhelmed, my husband isn't encouraging, he just snaps back with how do you know it will be months? It is going to take me a few months to taper and who knows how i will do after that. Any encouragement will be helpful.  Another complication is my liver enzymes are high due to the drug. I also found out I'm getting too much thyroid medication. Started to decrease that today. Thank you for your help.

Hang in there summer! You are in the early stages so  its going to be hard. Try not too look to far down the line. a day at a time is all any of us can do! Show your husband the Ashton Manual about tapering and that it takes months,he will maybe understand better. There  is lots of advice and encouragement on here and we are all here to help each other. Hopefully you will sleep better tonight and take tomorrow as it comes!    :)

Thank you so much. He knows all about it, but instead of encouraging me to get through this, he thinks that telling me the opposite will help. It doesn't because he has no idea how long.

Then tell him he isn't helping by saying that. The less stress you have the better. And if he cant support u through this then maybe he should say nothing!  Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, but try and explain he isn't helping.

Summer, I think if I were you I would wait on the Temazepam taper until you stabilize from the jump off Xanax.  There's nothing to be gained by starting the Temazepam taper while still adjusting to the Xanax jump, in my opinion.

Lack of sleep does make things feel worse… I hope you will consider taking a taper break until you feel more stable.  As for anyone else's opinion about how long symptoms might last, no one can know.  Not even the person going through it can know.  It could (and probably will) start to settle down soon.  My worst cuts settled down in about ten days.

Summer I would take challis advice! She knows a lot more than I do!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but this is not necessarily true.  I have only taken two different benzodiazepines, and they are Temazepam and Xanax, just like Summer.  So I am fairly confident in being able to offer my experience wit them.

Kinda......I know there are ranges and if the count is a little above then its not that serious, but if the count is hundreds above or thousands above there is cause for concern. Also the liver is pretty resilient and is very good at healing itself.

That's not too bad to be honest. If it were bad they would tell you they are concerned. If it was in the thousands you would be taken straight to hospital so i wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Hope this helps put your mind at ease a little  :)
