Vivid dreams, some nightmares

[El...]

Recommended Posts

Lately I've had extremely vivid dreams, some a bit nightmare kind off, mostly it's about things in my past and people I've haven't thought about( or tried not to) they're not extremely scary just kinda weird, and it seems all my dreams are very very vivid though I only sleep like two hours and then two hours again and then halfway sleep for an hour or two.

I read somewhere it's a sign of recovery when your dreams become vivid???

Anyone know or had exsperienced same??

Yes I have had vivid dreams all the way through this. Heather Ashton discusses it in her study. I have tons of thoughts of people I have not seen in many years several of whom are dead. Sometimes I find myself regretting things I said 30 years to people who are dead or who I have not seen in 25 years. My vivid dreams involve a lot of these people. Also I have had this terrible recurring dream which I know is a night terror that someone is on top of me holding me down in my bed. My stairs creek and it always begins with someone coming up the stairs. This whole thing takes such a difficult toll on us. I hope you can get some restful sleep soon.

Yes, me too.

It can be like a distorted version of past realities. Even during waking, and especially when in a "bad" patch, I find old memories arising which then seem to be overlaid with the "tone" (the colouring?) of present conditions, distorting the past reality by today's lights. I have to remind myself that "that isn't how it was", and "that isn't how I was, then".

Now that my sleep is getting better and, I think, deeper, my dreams are becoming more 'rapid'. Everything seems quickened/vivid and its a "fast" experience. I'm taking that as a sign of healing too.

yes Elbette I too have those..its very weird as they are not like any ''normal'' dream.Mine also have people from past experiances and I dont like them..Not at all. They unsettle the daylights out of me but I hear that they are usually at the tail end of symptoms of benzos..and I will take that and runwith it lol. Be well as you can    Reindeer
