SSRI Help Withim Intrusive Memories

Wondering what your thoughts are about starting a ssri to help with withdrawls. My main symptoms are fear. I had intrusive memories for the first 6-9months. Now I'm stuck with this constant feeling of fear. Just normal thoughts can sometimes  be scary or reading news stories. I'm much better today then 1 year ago however it's getting annoying and frustrating. I took ambien 12 years with 2-3 beers nightly. CT 12 months ago went through hell. 3 months ago quit drinking and that's when my healing started accelerating. Now I wonder if a ssri will help get me over the hump.

An SSRI will ramp up your symptoms for a few weeks before giving relief, so you'd have to take that into account. You may be better with CBT rather than meds if you're feeling like you're healing.
