Okay I'm gunna ask for a beta blocker,  sleeping pill and nausea meds. What do the majority of you guys take that helps so I can try em out so I can function again.  Also,  meds that won't be hard to taper off like these devil benzos.  Thank you!!!

Just wanted to mention that when you talk about a sleeping pill, don't use ambien or lunesta.  They also affect Gaba receptors (except in a different way).  These will only hinder your progress, and you could have another withdrawal almost as bad as benzos

Be careful with sleep meds. Stay away from all Z drugs. They are worse than benzos.

I found Trazadone 50mg to be somewhat helpful for sleep. It is an antidepressant with sedating qualities. Some find Remeron helpful, but I didn't (another antidepressant with sedating qualities). Those 2 are not particularly addictive. Once healed I stopped Trazadone with no problem.

I have not tried Seroquel (an antipsychotic). Supposedly it is very helpful for sleep, but it is somewhat addictive and must eventually be tapered.

OMG!  That's what my DR prescribed me. (Ambiem)  I took it 3 times and I still could not sleep so I gave up on those. Thank god!

I take remeron to help with sleep and nausea. Zofran I also take occasionally if I need to for nausea as well. The remeron took quite a while to get used to for me; I was extremely fatigued for weeks but I am glad I stuck with it as it is working very well for me now.

Yes, Ambien is a Z drug and is very bad stuff. If your doctor prescribed that knowing you are in benzo withdrawal, then your doctor is ignorant of benzo issues. I'd recommend Trazadone or Remeron instead to help with sleep.

Be aware that beta blockers must eventually be tapered if taken regularly for a long time. I'd get them but only use as needed for anxiety.

I have a stupid question.  Is Benadryl a Z drug?  Has anyone used that to try to assist with sleep?  Will that mess up my withdrawal plans?

I have a stupid question.  Is Benadryl a Z drug?

No, its an antihistamine.

Has anyone used that to try to assist with sleep?

Lots of folks take benadryl for sleep.  Its the active ingredient in most  OTC sleep aids.

Will that mess up my withdrawal plans?

No.

Remeron 15 mg works wonders for sleep for me.  Some only need 7.5. Can't be more than 15 mg for sleep. Took a week of grogginess in the mornings to get used to but I'm fine now. No Z drugs. Nasty! Zofran if used only occasionally or better yet if it works Dramamine. (Gravol in Canada). I don't tolerate it well though so soda crackers often help nausea and something in Canada called Eno. It's simply sodium bicarbonate and citric acid. So if my nausea is bad I use that. Not recommended for those on restricted salt diets though. B

My Dr. Gave me Clonodine .1mg for my racing heart rate but it also helps with sleep. Antihistamines like benedryl are my goto for sleep. Dramamine is great too. Antihistamines are great  :smitten: they also knock out my nausea but it takes an hour. To make it through the hour I take Nauzene ( hope that is spelled right ). They are chewable tablets you can take every 2 hours. They work instantly to offer some relief. For mild just annoying nausea they are all I need.

I read dehydration causes nausea and I believe it. I forget to drink water and notice it gets really bad if I'm even slightly dehydrated.

Yes I've noticed clonodine does help.  Are you cutting. 25 K?
