single k dose for sleep stopped working during taper , need advice split dose ?

My once nightly dose of clonazepam has stopped providing Me sleep yet I still need to continue to taper.

Seeing that this single dose no longer works for sleep should I split it into two or more doses ? would this help Me in tapering off the K ? If splitting is the answer when would be the best time to take each dose ?

I know I have not been on it for long but it has been beating Me and My depression into the ground with side effects from day one but good ole shrink says to stay with it. I so want to get off the K . I would so appreciate any suggestions or info provided. I know their are folks on this forum that have been in this battle for years and know so much more than I do.

I take Remeron 15 mg for sleep and it works well. A lot of people need only 7.5 mg but I was given 15 mg originally to gain weight as well. It's not for everyone but it works for me. I'd take Dramamine (gravol here) but it actually keeps me up as unfortunately all antihistamines do. Maybe take a bit more melatonin or even though I'm not really knowledgeable about it some find valerian root helpful. B

When I was tapering klonopin, my sleep went to complete crap after my first cut.  Although I always took the dose before bed, as I had while on the full milligram, it did not help my sleep.  Are you taking the benzo about an hour or two before bed?

I was down to .074 when the sleep did not happen so just to see if their would be a big difference last night I went up to .076 and it did allow Me to sleep a couple of hours but been getting slammed with symptoms after I wake up from the dose.

Will probably hold at .076 for a few days. since day one I have felt symptoms from taking the clonazepam most likely side effects and now probably some WD symptoms added in. I guess Our cortisol level spikes during the am hours which makes the symptoms worse. Even though the linger through the day they are definitely worse in the early AM.

Johnny,

I am right there with you. This is my 3rd time on K and it has been totally different for me. From the first I took it this time it has slammed me with depression this time mixed in with the anxiety that comes along with reducing. This has been the biggest nightmare for me, so you are not alone. I take my doses at 8 am and 8 pm but I am on a much higher dose than you. I have never had depression before and it scares the daylights out of me. Hang in there. I'm right there with you. We will get through this. The morning times are the worst for me as well. It can't stand it!
