I got some sleep Monday, but haven't had any since then...minutes maybe each night.  I feel like I am dying.  How long does this BS insomnia last?  I can't do this anymore.  Help

Of course none of us can answer your question, but I understand the need to keep asking it in order to vent a bit. I would venture to give you the answer of "2017". Maybe sooner in the year or maybe later. Hopefully it is sooner.

Your mind is active, and when active it can't sleep.

The leaves on a tree turn brown in autumn with no assistance from nature, it happens naturally without control.

That's how sleep show also be

When you were a baby you slept without controlling sleep

You're probably not sleeping, because you're worrying about not sleeping.

If you're really not sleeping to the extend you mentioned you should go to the doctors get something to assist you for a week or two weeks tops.

When your sleep returns you must deal with the issues that keep you awake.

An active mind is what is keeping me from falling asleep too. Meditation does seem to help somewhat but after coming off benzos I still need a small amount of seroquel to get some sleep.

Screwed up brain chemistry from a benzo or z-drug withdrawal keeps the door open for an active mind to keep us awake. Once healed an active mind should be able to surrender to sleep much easier.
