Librium taper plan? Don't see many...

Hello, looking for a Librium taper plan.  I know there aren't a lot as most people switch to Valium.  I cannot switch because I did genetics testing and ultra rapidly metabolize Valium.  (Was super sick when I switched from temapzepam to Valium for Ashton taper).

Anyways, looking for a taper plan with just opening capsules.  I'm on 15 mg's now and want to do a 10% a month decrease.  If not possible, maybe a water titration plan?  I have 10 mg syringes, 1 mg syringes, a 300 ml cylinder and glass bottles (I'm dosing twice now).

Thanks!!!!

The Buddies here seem to be very helpful, but as I scan the first page of General Taper Plans, a recent post I made and your post are the only two that I see that have mysteriously recieved no responses.  And neither of them are outlandish or impossible queries.

For this reason I am going to try to assist you.

Librium appears to have an active metabolite with a very long half-life (possibly longer than Valium.)  This makes it ideal in a tapering practice.  To my knowledge, it is a rare benzo to obtain.  That may be the reason noone has responded:  an overall lack of firsthand experience (admittingly, I have none).

You probably already know this through your research, but it seems that Librium is in fact one of very few benzos that is soluble in water.  Therefore you may be able to make a simple solution using careful math to determine exactly how much you are dosing with your 10 mL syringe.  The more diluted the powder is, the easier it will be to taper.  You can always add more to the solution later in order to create a lower dose.

Since there is some mixed info out there, and you find yourself in conclusion that Librium is actually not fully soluble in water, then using a solution of propylene glycol (food grade, available on Amazon) may be an option.  I know that it has a primary use as a solvent for benzo solutions in general.  I also find the taste to be very pleasant.  You would of course make the solution using the same math calculations as you would with water (simple division).

If you can dilute it in water, a super easy way to do this would be:

Put the entire dosage in 100 mls of water (or PG & water)--about 1/2 cup of liquid. Each 1 ml you pull out would be a 1% drop. If you pull out 1 more ml every three days, that would give you a 10% per month drop. So for instance the first 3 days pull 1 ml, 2nd 3 days pull 2 mls, then 3 mls, etc....

But of course I think it is good to listen to your body and make adjustments in the rate based on how things are going.

Thank you for your replies!  I assumed not many people answered because L is not often used.  I did find a micro taper schedule on line at benzosupport.com which I am brining to my doctor to assist in measurements. Thanks again!!
