Water intake

How much water do you all drink?  I've lost my ability to sense thirst but do get in about 20-30 oz daily.  I don't think this is enough.  There are different ideas on how much fluid intake a person should have...

Your thoughts?

You are right.  That is not enough water for anyone.  Lots of info on water requirements on the web, but you would probably need at least 80oz.

I have the same problem with not feeling thirsty.  I found several android apps that manage water intake and have some kind of reminder action.  I found trying to drink about 4oz of water on the half hour works pretty good because it is easy to remember and even if you miss a few it won't matter.  It is also very easy to swallow 4oz of water as that is about a mouthful.    If you have a grandfather clock so much the better but there are phone apps that will sound on the hour or half hour or both.

You really need to prioritize water intake.  Water will not only hydrate the body but also clean out those nasty toxins.  Once fully hydrated you will feel much better.

Yes, please drink water! I would only drink a cup or two a day after I jumped and I got terribly dehydrated and really sick. Now I make myself drink 8-10 oz. every 2 hours. I even set reminders for myself on the computer. (or a water drinking app would be great!) I would shoot for eight 8 oz. glasses of water per day minimally! Make yourself do it!

Thanks guys. Had such a heap of trouble with all of this. I have serious sinus problems and pressure which is probably partly as I'm dehydrated as well. I've never been a heavy fluid intake person and this has taken such a toll on me. I have a small  tolerance for a lot of fluids because of a uterus pressing on my bladder. So drinking that much water is going to be difficult but I know I need to do something and it's so awful because I can't sense thirst. I've downloaded a water intake app so I will do that and see how things go. Thank you for your advice.

Just on my Apple app, I should be drinking about 120 ounces a day based on my weight. I can't imagine drinking that much fluid. But I need to make a start to do something different because I am gravely ill. :(

I noticed that when my symptoms rev up and my head is hurting and I'm horribly panicked and feeling awful, that stopping, going to get a BIG glass of water and just sitting there drinking it, can calm me down and make me feel better. I also notice that my horrifically dry, chapped lips are starting to get better also. DRINK UP!

It can take weeks to months to get fully hydrated after depletion.  I think you will feel much better once you recover.
