Severe shoulderblade/spine pain

Yep. Same. It gets really bad for me at times. This is one of my worst symptoms. The only relief I got was relaxing any way possible, fixing my diet and time.

Yup, Ive had and have this during tolerance, tapering and now, on and of. It effects my lower back too....and are sooo enoying. In my tolerance I went for several treatments as napaparat, chiropractor and others, had x-ray here and there.... nothing wrong eccept isjias In my lower back nothing serious.

I think when we are In this agony and pain we use our muscles wrong and IT effects everything.

Sorry for my bad english, im danish 8)

My left shoulder blade froze up for no reason and I couldn't reach to the middle of my back without a lot of pain.  Never had this before being on benzos.  Worked with a cranial-sacral therapist and it helped but, I think it also just got better after getting off the benzo...so weird.

I'm so sorry for all who have this.... it is the only pain, (and I had some pain) that sent me scurrying to urgent care... it was more than I could stand... Dr said she could actually feel the muscle spasming... all I felt was pain... brutal pain... she offered me benzos and I declined..

But I left with a recommendation to try something that sounded ridiculous to me.... she told me to take a tennis ball, put it in a sock... throw it over my shoulder and and roll it around the wall using that muscle...surprisingly it actually helped some...

Good news is after that bout of a month or two in more pain than I thought possible, it all left and never returned.......

I still have that exact same pain at 1 year out it's just less intense now. It makes my arm feel like someone yanked it out of the socket too. I did PT for months and nothing really helped it. Running it with the tennis balls does provide Some Relief!

I had this in my left scapula that was triggered by carrying heavy bags.  I caved and took small amounts of painkillers at night so that I could get at least a few hours sleep (sitting in a chair)  I went to a specialist, had xray, mri which showed nothing.  It was agony until I jumped - weird.  I still have P.T. for it but now the P.T. is for extreme weakness.  WBB

I had similar pain including my right scapula as someone else mentioned. The tennis ball recommendation is a form of self myofascial release, self masssfe of the tight connective tissue (facscia) that lies over the muscle. It's tight even in most people, even without the benzos. We know benzo withdrawal involves neuromuscular symptoms. I use a foam roller (including one calied a rumble roller with projections like a rumble strip). I use it on my back, upper arms, inner thighs, glutes, or wherever I am having benzo related muscle issues- pain, twitching, etc. Belly breathe into the pain and only use as much pressure as you can take.  Gives me relief. I can't take NSAIDS because I have an ulcer.

Glad to hear it left after a month or two!  I'll be very glad when this leaves.. A tennis ball is very good, but I think a lacrosse ball is even better to use to roll out muscles.  I have been having a lot of back muscle tightness in the last few months, and lately, even my spine seems to hurt - from the middle of my neck, down about 8 inches.. I agree with everyone here, for me, it does get maddening!

For relief, I've been using a small electronic device that has a cord and pads I can attach to my body, that shocks the muscles and it is definitely good for the pain.  I also have a back massage thing I have attached to my chair in my office that provides some relief as well.  I stretch like crazy and that seems to help as well.. But when all else fails, I go for 800mg of advil!
