The majority of people can get off benzodiazepines with little to no problem. Those however are not the ones that typically find their way here. With that said I see the the majority of people heal within the 18 month mark.

I think we are both close to the same time, I'm at 13 months now. I have to say I'm disappointed that my severe anxiety problem and my cognitive problems are still haunting me. Other symptoms have gotten better over time. I am hoping that maybe at 18 months I will be better. The majority of people have no problem, those of us in protracted WD are different and will get better at different times. Hold out and things should get better.

I really really hope all of us will heal by the 18 month mark , that would be so awesome.  :)

Did you have panic attacks , if you did, when did you start to notice they go away? I am 6 1/2 months out and I still have panic attacks very frequently, but I notice that its is getting better. Even thought I am learning coping strategies and not afraid of them as much but they still scare me big times.

Another one is the dizziness, if I'm not remembering wrong (bad memory now), you said you have dizziness too right, if so when did that go away?

I also have dp/dr too and its so constant.

worry/racing thoughts..make me keep ruminating about them...

I am 17 months off and I feel that I am almost there.  I can see the finish line.  I have had almost every symptom in the book and have seen them all improve or drop away.  In addition to that, mentally I seem to "JUST KNOW" somehow, in my gut and in my heart that it is mostly behind me.  2017 is the year I will step out into a new life, a new level of healing, one that I have not experienced for at least 10 years during my benzo use, tolerance and withdrawal.  Is it over completely.  Heck no!  I'm not ready to write my success story just yet.  But the days of inexpressible misery and fear are over and here I am, still standing, healing, reclaiming my life and myself.  Take heart BB's!  Lift your head up and look down the road to the light that is waiting for us.  We will get there.

I am at 16 months, and still have a long list of symptoms.

Most of the sxs are not as bad and I can somewhat handle them. Maybe I have just gotten used to living in this horrendous state.

It is very discouraging to feel this bad at this far out.

But I am holding on to the 18 to 24 month time frame.

I have done everything I can to get better now it is up to my body and mind to heal.
