I would like to join because I would like to start tapering off of Xanax. 23 1/2 years ago, I started on 1mg 2x a day. Now I take 1mg 6x daily. They really don't seem to be working and I've read so many scary things about what the can do to one's mind after taking them as long as I have. Please allow me to join. Thank you.

Benzodiazepines work well until they don't, and then we're faced with a decision about increasing the dose or getting off the med.  Anyway, glad you're here for taper support before you start your taper.  A careful taper can make all the difference in the world.
