Depression and tapering

Recommended Posts

Depression can complicate everything from A to Z when it comes to benzos especially tapering off of them. Not only do benzos cause depressive symptoms they make pre existing symptoms much worse and can complicate tapers and sleep alike.

I have to take melatonin " WHEN IT WORKS " or I dont get any sleep at all but it also causes temporary depressive symptoms if a person is on a benzo especially clonazepam as I am.  If it were not for My depressive illness I would not stuck here on a  benzo as it was prescribed to Me for insomnia. They tried Me on all kinds of sleep meds and had reactions to all or they did not work.

Does of Us that have life long depression know first hand how bad the symptoms can be , some debilitating . My taper would be a lot easier if it were not for the depression.

Same here. It's a symptom for me that always lingers to some extent. I isolate because of it and really have no friends or family besides my husband and 3 year old. I have so much guilt.
