variables in benzo tapering

Their are so many variables to consider from A to Z when planning  a benzo taper. For example I have pre existing depression which has made My symptoms much worse . Also its hard to tell which symptom is from the depression and which is from the benzo.  This is My second taper which I am finding harder to deal with as the symptoms are worse.

 

Im also puzzled at how various countries compare potency between different benzos. australia's Government says 0.5mgs of clonazepam is = to 5MGs of diazepam yet the UK says its equal to 10mgs. Plus the half life variables are so wide from one person to another in which it is impossible to actually measure.

 

IMO their should be a lot more research regarding Benzo's and doctors and pharmacist should be educated in Benzo and other drug withdrawls and tapers.  Two years ago My Doc said to just stop taking My clonazepam , said its only been a few weeks, I did and had a seizure !  Even now this time around the pharmacist is telling Me to just stop at 6 weeks . Negative I will continue with My taper at My own rate. 

 

IMO benzo and their taper and withdrawals are a nightmare which is only complicated by ignorance. Even though their are different opinions here on BBs forum Im glad it is on the internet . That is how I got off last time and hope to do the same this time even if it is three times are hard this time around.
