The hyperactive ones

A minority of people in benzodiazepine withdrawal seem to have to deal with abnormal excitability and hyperactivity, while most people are very fatigued and worn out instead.

Who is like me, to the point of being misdiagnosed as hypomaniac?

I just feel like I would never sleep again without a supplement or a med, because my body doesn't even feel like it needs to sleep. I can walk for miles and not even aching or feeling tired later... and my mind is fast and hyper aroused too (processing loads of thoughts at a time). I'm so overwhelmed I even buzz and tingle and sometimes I seriously have trouble to sit down and not to walk around!

Yes, this is me.  If I touch a cup of coffee I feel like I am mainlining the stuff all day.  Was going through a 36 hr awake 6 hr sleep cycle.  Amazingly, if I don't take any meds to counteract it I get a lot done.  Exercise, clean house, etc.  I was riding my bike one hour per day, walking the dogs another 40 minutes

Unfortunately I got hit by a car on my bike.  I got some  from a Dr to sleep when I need to it also helps with the pain

But the not being able to sit still is hard when I cant be moving.

Just don't touch any caffeine, not even one soda!

I'm sorry to hear about your accident! I hope you'll totally recover soon...

This is totally me, by the way. I walk on my feet for something like 10-15 kms a day... I clean my house, cook a lot, and of course if I sit I somehow still unconfortable.

I'm trying to take advantage of the situation, doing my best at work and things like those.

I am still taking some meds to counteract (100 mgs of Trazodone) but I can sleep even without them...

If I don't take it (I've tried) I'm even more restless the day after... I'm slowly, very slowly, tapering it...

I go to the orthopedic Dr. Tuesday. My knee got the worst of it. Im still riding but I try to use the other leg as much as possible

Trazadone never worked for me either

I got remeron which worked for a while, still sometimes does plus amytryptiline but both are anti depressants and I dont want another addiction

I just take them when I absolutely HAVE to get some sleep, which although I dont work there is some apt on my calendar every day

I had tomorrow off but hubby was nice enough to volunteer me for waiting for his delivery!

Maybe soon I will be able to quit taking them. I have to alternate so I dont build a toleramce

I USED to be the way you described, prior to tapering. I was also extremely skinny and couldn't gain weight.  I finished a second masters during this time, so the energy had someplace to go.  I worked out like a maniac and never felt sore.  I'm sure it was due to the tolerance w/d of K.

Eventually as I've tapered, I have become more depressed than anxious, and I have enough pain to have been given a Fibromyalgia diagnosis.  I don't believe I have it because the pain didn't start until the taper and it's gotten worse as I've gotten lower.

I wonder if its a clonazepam thing?  Those tapering off valium seem to be tired.  BTW I am still in pain, its chronic but I certainly hope it doesn't get worse.  Having a disagreement with my dr about taking statins because they cause pain

My pain is odd. Vague, and mainly foused in a specific area of the body: the lower part of arms and wrists!  :idiot: Sometimes the upper part of my feet too...

I was hyperactive even while on Klonopin... I wonder what this drug did to my receptors... I used to be very lazy! It's like Klonopin re-wired my brain...

Im getting pain in those areas too.  Thought it was the statins.  Weird, cuz I never use those muscles or anything.  I didn't get the hyper until I started my taper, hopefully its just wd and will go away

It may be due to zinc deficiency... I had my serum levels checked out and they turned out to be dramatically low...

I'm supplementing it right now and I feel less restless... Let's see if it lasts! Zinc is said to be the master modulator of GABA receptors...

Yes, there is always a wonder supplement. Wasted money on this and that. Nothing evrr worked like it was supposed to

Well, it went well... but it lasted for a few hours.  :-[ I guess I need to take it more often.
