Hello Everyone, I'm 3.5 months off of a six month daily ambien use for insomnia caused by hyperthyroidism. I am improving quite a bit, but it's a rollercoaster. My hardest symptoms are dp, a strange dizziness, emotional liability, and fatigue. I feel really off when I'm outside, it's just strange and awful. I have always loved being outside and am an avid gardener. It's like when I go outside my symptoms are hugely amplified, especially the dizzy disconnected feeling. A month and a half ago it was unbearable, now it's slowly better on some days, but never gone. Is this the case for anyone else? Of course I'm going to ask, did it go away for anyone? I have the added fun of adjusting finely thyroid medications as well. So, sorting it out and hoping it heals soon. Thank you in advance.

I'm not having that now, but had it many years ago during a bad bout of depression.  Being outside was painful... I wanted nothing more than to get back indoors.  It got better!!!  Just took time and a lot of patience.  I would force myself to get outside for just a few minutes a day - my husband would walk me up and down the driveway once, then back into the "safe" house.

You can definitely heal from this.  I did.  Keep trying to take short walks in the fresh air, and try not to fret about how strange you feel.  It's going to get better.

erp, I was on benzos and Ambein for a long time. It took a while after coming off of them to feel more secure when I left the house, but it does slowly get better.

Just keep getting outside no matter how hard it is and accept that it is just your brain healing and the thoughts are not real.

It will come around.

Hi, I'm almost five months out . I have the exact  symptoms you are having now . I'm better but it is very Slow. My main symptoms now are mild dp/dr, strange dizziness and worry / unwanted thoughts . What has and is helping me is walking slmost every day for 30 minutes to an hour, and do things little bit at a time and hanging out with friends .

I think we will be better and normal again it just take times, lots of times , I'm aiming for 6 months . U thinh im abou 45-50 % better now.

The last years of my taper and the first months after having reached the zero I felt like I was a bee in a world full of trains. I was so insecure, hidden by panic attacks or weird feelings ALL THE F+++++++ TIME.

Now I am able to drive with my car for 2 hours, sitting in a crowd of people in an noisy environment, hungry and angry, but stable and with no emotional problems at all. I can talk, I am me again, and although I have still some bad symptoms, all that you were describing here - is gone. completely. after years.
