Does anyone really heal from the brain fog ?....Anyone?

I am 7 weeks CT of .05mg Xanax per night for sleeping for 8-10 months approx.  I got CT'd while in the hospital having a major surgery.  Most of my physical symptoms (ringing in ears, weakness, jelly legs, stomach issues) wax and wane in intensity (depending on the day and sometimes the time of day) but are manageable for the most part. The worst part of wd for me is the brain fog that comes on every morning.  I feel like I am looking at life through a film and I feel kind of off balance.  It tends to be awful in the morning and lift a little during the day so that I can be functional on a basic level at least.  Most of the time I feel almost "normal" by evening and hopeful that it is getting better but then it starts all over again the next morning.  It is very disheartening to go back to square one every day.  Is there anyone out there who has dealt with this symptom and come through on the other side?  Does it ever really go away?  Will my brain ever be clear and sharp again ?
