6 months free and thankful...

Yesterday was six months off for me. I am so thankful for this website! If I hadn't found it, I can't even think of what I might have done. It is so reassuring to know that there are others that have/are going through the same as you. That this is a place where you can get insight into your miriad of symptoms and find support.

I was on 2 mg. Daily clonazapam for 8 yrs., Then crossed over to 20mg. Daily of Valium ( my doc was ignorant on converting!) For 2 months.

Anyway, all that is behind me now. I am recovering and so glad to finally be free!😃

Hey Mbusybee!,

Congratulations, I like the 6 month mark! : )

I really agree with what you said about finding benzo buddies for help during this benzo ordeal!  I don't know where I'd be without it as well.. It has helped me immensely to be part of this site, as we all are the only ones that understand each other!

I'm almost at 8 months, but since I tapered the anti-psychotic I was put on a few years ago during September, I've had to go backwards for a little while in order to go forward (if that makes sense?).. but, I'm off of that drug now as well so I'm real glad about that!

I've had to experience a lot more of the head pressure again from this risperdal w/d, after those feelings had subsided from the benzo w/d.. so I was thinking about you! : )  How is your head / face pressure now?  is it still bad?

Well, I'm glad you are doing well!  We have basically the same clonazepam story..

the other day, I talked to a girl who was just put on clonazepam (1mg at night for sleep), and has been on it for a month, and I told her my story, about BB, and other stuff, and I hope she listens!  I just thought, omg, you don't know what you're in for.. please do a rapid taper and get off of this crap before it hurts you like it has me and so many others..

Anyway, take care and I hope you continue to heal rapidly!!! - Eric

Thank you all so very much. I mean it! Eric, I still have the symptoms and more that I haven't listed in my signature. Those have just been the worst ones and the most lingering. Many have fallen off though, both mental and physical. I never thought I would make it this far. But thank goodness I have.

Benzos made me so sick, I couldn't do anything. I had no life. Now, I'm getting it back. It's really really really just a matter of time.

It really really really IS just a matter of time.  Congratulations Mbusybee!!  6 months is magnificent.  I had my first zopiclone in 2008 and am also getting my life back - really back, and have done 5 months tomorrow (and start a new part-time job tomorrow - terrified that my shredded nails and red dry hands won't last the distance, that my sore tummy will manage the hours, but hey, if it doesn't happen something else will, and it won't be benzo's)!!
