There are some experts in benzodiazepine withdrawal!

There are some experts in benzodiazepine withdrawal who really know their stuff. They are based in a city called Bristol in the UK, and they are a charity called Battle Against Tranquilizers, or BAT. The charity specialises in benzodiazepine withdrawal, and is mostly run by people who have been through benzodiazepine withdrawal themselves. I used to go along to their drop in groups and was very impressed. The charity keeps up to date on all research/ news regarding benzodiazepines, and spends quite a lot of time trying to educate doctors on how to withdraw people safely off benzodiazepines. The charity also does a lot of work trying to raise awareness about the dangers of benzodiazepines. They can be contacted on the UK numbers;

0117 9663629

0844 826 9317 (24 hour answering machine)

Or on email at; support@bataid.org

It can take a while to get through to their helplines sometimes, so you often have to be a bit persistent.

I highly recommend giving them a call, or dropping them an email with any questions you have.

Battle against tranquilizers recommend withdrawing about 10% of your dose about every 2 weeks (or going even slower than this), so nothing like that place in boston. Places like that should be shut down. "For your own good", pml, lol.

Beth Israel Hospital has a reputation for keeping people there as long as they can to milk as much money out of the insurance companies as possible. I was even told this from some of the staff at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. At Beth Israel when they saw what good insurance I had they didn't see a person they saw $$$$$. And I HATE Klonopin. Jesus. I was doing better emotionally tapering off of Xanax. Klonopin turned me into a raving lunatic.  :idiot:

They will not provide help outside of the UK

They can answer any questions you may have over the telephone, or by email, so in a way they can help outside of the UK.

BAT takes calls from people abroad quite regularly. It shouldn't be a problem.
