HI!

Luckily I am getting an echo test monday to get my mind at ease, as well I got a monitor for 2 weeks, the doc wants me to exercise but my heart can't take it, I lift a small weight at home for a shirt time and my heart rate goes to 170;;;  screw that noise.  At one point I was at my Apt. gym on the sitting bike and it kept going up and up over 200.  Went back down but Im not doing that again.  Hope my heart is ok... I hate benzos.

I really don't think u should be exercising until your resting heart rate is normal. Normal is 60 to 100 beats per min. Mine was running 135 and higher when I got up in the morning and I knew that wasn't good. I got on a beta blocker to get it down. Unfortunately I'm still on it 15 mos later.

My resting heart rate in morning is 80 and during the day around 100, it is crazy that it just rises so much during any kind of light exercise.  If I sit down after it is so high it goes back to about 120 for a bit then back down to around 105 for a while. When I sit and watch TV it is low 90's

I am sure I will end up on Beta blockers, but that's ok... I really need to go for a walk.

Hp, as any doctor would tell you, It is normal for your heart rate to go up when you exercise ..that's what healthy hearts do as long as it comes down afterwards..

I was thinking the same thing as tassie, it goes up when you exercise and down when at rest. Check your Blood Pressure. Mine went up considerably when I started WD and has stayed up. My doc prescribed me clonidine for blood pressure.

I guess I should have specified that I was on a sit bike on level one for a few minutes going real slow.  I have been going for 3 weeks everyday for obly 15 minutes a day and then one day my heart rate wouldn't stop going up, I stopped what I was doing and it was still going up and up and up.  So it did go back down but it was fireing up after I stopped.... it should have never got over 200 for such a light exercise.

A racing heart rate is one of my lingering symptoms as well.  For the most part, I'm doing ok.  Cyclical symptoms here and there, but definitely in a better place.  But even at the doctors last week, my heart is RACING.  I had been sent to a cardiologist a couple months ago and he ran all sorts of tests but could find no reason why this was happening, so in my mind, I figure I'm still battling the last of withdrawal????????  Anyway, yes, Iamsickofthis, you do want to make sure you get it checked out.  I know it is so easy for us to blame everything on W/D, but sadly other things CAN happen.  Hang in there and keep us posted.

Just checking in and wondering how your echo test went?  Although mine looked good, that doesn't mean everyone in w/d does as well.  Please drop a note and let us know how you are when you are able.
