Need reassurance

I'm switching from mirtazapine to trazadone tonight and I'm sooooo scared. Has anyone else stopped their taper for a while to adjust other medications or switched ADs. Don't need horror stories just reassurance that I won't lose my mind.

Are you doing a cross taper? Where you slowly reduce 1 and increase the other.

No was supposed to go to 15mg or mirtazapine for a seek but can't sleep properly at all so only dine two days at 15mg and starting trazodine tonight

I see, so only 2 days on mirtazapine, if you are worried you could always ring the pharmacist at the chemist, they are always happy to help.

What dose Trazadone? I take 50mg per night and find it helpful. I found it took a bit of time for my body to get used to Trazadone - the first couple of nights I felt a little sick and it didn't help with sleep, but after that it started working well. I think cutting over all at once is fine but be prepared for one or two nights of adjustment.

Ive to start 50mg for a week then 100mg for a week then to 150mg. I really hope it helps, nothing has helped my anxiety that's why I ended up taking diazepam daily

At best Trazadone will help you sleep a bit more at night. It won't do much for anxiety. Unfortunately there aren't any medications that relieve benzo-withdrawal anxiety. You might look on the anxiety threads for suggestions about non-drug ways of combatting anxiety. I found anxiety to be my main benzo-withdrawal symptom. I know it's horribly unpleasant, but eventually you heal and it goes away.

My problem was anxiety before benzos pretty much mist of the time using them and still anxiety tapering. I was a non functioning mess before benzos. I just need some reluef from this panic and anxiety.
