Insomnia leading me to depression + anxiety.

The insomnia is making me fall into a huge depression. I feel hopeless and want to give up at life. Nothing works. Anxiety about trying to sleep makes it even worse. My depression is now full of dark thoughts about an easy way out by just ending things. What has happened to me :( is this just the withdrawl making me think like this? This battle would be manageable if only I could sleep.

You're very early in benzo withdrawal.  It's going to take a while for your sleep to regulate but it will.  I think I was one of the worst insomnia cases on these boards.  My sleep isn't very good but much better than in acute.  I know that symptoms are magnified when sleep deprived.  Try not to obsess about it because it does make matters much worse.

I'm a bit farther along since Jump on August 1st. I got hardly any sleep most night..fear, wanting to just fall asleep and not wake up...life is over....and on and on and on.

It gets better.

Reading the following took a lot of fear out of it for me.

healing of the hippocampus brings on primal fear among other things.
