OK, I have a giant monkey hand squeezing from the bottom of my throat to my belly button. I'm 2 months out, anybody have the benzo belly stop. If so, when? I'm really looking forward to the nerves letting go of this area. Probably the worst part of this as it affects overall feeling.

What is your diet like? I didn't realize till after a month or two off benzos what was causing "benzo belly" . I had to cut out a lot of foods. :brickwall:

It could very easily be something in your excellent diet . I have always had a excellent diet even before benzos , but I found certain fruits and especially vegatables cause benzo belly. I had to cut out all crucifix vegatables. Broccoli especially give me benzo belly. Probiotics could also be causing a problem for you as well.

 

Just because it's healthy doesn't mean it's not causing a problem. I know it doesn't make sense but you'll find a lot of the people on here with the same issue. Just test foods out find out if anything cause any symptoms and if it's not the case then it may be something else causing the problem my friend. :D

Definitely inside, feels kinda like bad constipation but I go everyday. Like nothing is happening in there

Sounds diet related. I have had to a very restricted diet in order to avoid feeling that way. I am no expert just in my experience . Try experimenting with foods and see if it changes anything .

You can try Swanson DGL powder for the cramps in stomach.

I take it.

 

Do you eat/Drink dairy, carbs like bread, pasta (wheat etc.)?

you can also look at foods that are high in free Glutamate and cut them out. for example:dairy, wheat/gluten, tomatoes, nuts(peanuts etc.), Parmesan and more...

Coffee also increase glutamate. Sugar works like a stimulant, can irritate your belly too.

You Must find a balance between glutamat and gaba.

Your belly/stomach/gut have the most gaba receptors and they don't work now. It takes time for them to grow back and produce your own gaba. In that time you have/produce more Glutamat in your System/belly and makes your belly hypersensitive to a Lot of things..

Sometimes vegetables are hard to digest and cause lots of gas, leading to bloating in the belly  :o
